ShiftRight for LinkedIn: privacy policy
What the ShiftRight browser extension for LinkedIn collects, why, where it goes, and how to remove it.
What the extension does
ShiftRight for LinkedIn is a browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, made by ShiftRight Pte. Ltd. It connects your LinkedIn, in your own browser, to your ShiftRight account. It lets you save LinkedIn profiles as leads in ShiftRight, and carries out the LinkedIn steps of your ShiftRight campaigns (visiting a profile, sending an invitation, sending a message), either prepared for you to send yourself (copilot) or sent for you within limits you set (autopilot).
What it reads and sends to ShiftRight
- Profiles you choose to save. When you press "Save to ShiftRight" on a LinkedIn profile or search results page, the extension sends the person's name, job title, company, location and profile address to your ShiftRight account.
- Recent posts of people in your campaigns. When the extension visits the profile of someone in one of your LinkedIn campaigns, it reads the text, date and address of their few most recent public posts and sends them to ShiftRight, so Michael can suggest one short comment you may post before inviting them. ShiftRight discards reshares and anything personal, sensitive or promotional before any AI sees it; the remaining posts may be sent to the AI provider you chose in ShiftRight (your own OpenAI or Anthropic account) to draft the comment. Comments are only ever posted by you.
- Outcomes of your LinkedIn steps. Whether an invitation or message was sent, skipped or could not be sent, so ShiftRight can plan the next step.
- Acceptances and replies. When it checks your list of connections, the extension sends the profile addresses of your recent connections; ShiftRight keeps only those that match people already in your campaigns. When a person in your campaign has replied in a LinkedIn conversation the extension opens for a step, it sends the text of their latest reply, which appears in your ShiftRight inbox.
- Your LinkedIn display name and the extension's version, shown in ShiftRight Settings so you can see which browser is connected.
The extension does not read your LinkedIn password, your messages with people outside your campaigns, or anything on websites other than linkedin.com and app.shiftright.tech.
What it stores in your browser
A connection key that lets the extension work with your ShiftRight account, your autopilot pause setting, and a short list of recent actions shown in the extension's window. Nothing is stored in cookies or sent to anyone other than ShiftRight.
How the data is used
Only to provide the extension's single purpose: running your ShiftRight outreach on LinkedIn and keeping your ShiftRight account up to date. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, use it to decide creditworthiness or lending, or share it with third parties except the service providers that host ShiftRight. If you have connected your own Apollo account in ShiftRight, the profile address of a person you save is sent to Apollo through your account to look up their work email. Data is handled as described in our privacy policy.
Your choices
- Disconnect the extension from its window, or from ShiftRight Settings under LinkedIn. The connection key stops working at once.
- Remove the extension from your browser at any time; this deletes what it stored in your browser.
- Delete leads, including people saved from LinkedIn, in ShiftRight. To have your account data deleted, write to adi@shiftright.tech.
Using LinkedIn responsibly
You are responsible for how you use your LinkedIn account and for following LinkedIn's terms. LinkedIn does not allow automated activity; autopilot keeps to the safe daily and weekly limits you set and to a human pace, but LinkedIn may still restrict accounts it believes are automated. Copilot, where you send each step yourself, is the default.
